Smart Contractors is a family-oriented business, based in Attica, Indiana that offers landscape, concrete, and hauling services.

New owner and operator John Ahrens, along with his wife Nina and their three kids, have relocated from the Chicago area to Lafayette, Indiana. John attended Joliet Junior College where he studied landscape management. John is partnering with Andy Smart, the company founder, who also brings years of knowledge and experience and community connections. John's parents, Nick and Linda Ahrens, have joined them as well.

What a great support system! They have been in the business industry since they were 18 which has enabled them to expose John and his siblings to a life of entrepreneurship!

Nick and Linda are committed to helping John as owner of Smart Contractors Inc. They all have different responsibilities and truly help each other generate success! Although the transition has been a bit of a challenge, they said they have been greatly blessed and things are starting to fall into place. They have felt welcomed by a caring community and are impressed with the honest, helpful attitude that is exhibited by the people they encounter every day. Nick went on to say, "Whether it's your suppliers or your clients, everyone is genuinely sincere."

The Ahrens family has recognized the importance of community and being involved. They try to treat their clients, employees, and suppliers like friends and family. How inspirational!

With over 2100 satisfied customers and growing, they still believe that personal relationships and quality work should be the number one priority.

Throughout this transitional period, they have continued to learn, introduce themselves to their community, and make improvements.
